The extreme points of the United Kingdom may be measured in a number of ways. The United Kingdom is a land of both great cities and scattered islands and all things in between and the traditional measurement of Great Britain "from Land's End to John o' Groats" is not the full measure of the land.

- Westernmost settlement – Belleek, Fermanagh at 54°28’1"N, 8°9’48"W. Until 1930, the westernmost settlement was the Village on Hirta, the main island of St Kilda, but it is now abandoned; the island now has a military base, staffed during the summer months.
