The Diocese of Sheffield is a Church of England diocese in the Province of York, covering the city of Sheffield and surrounding parts of the West Riding of Yorkshire, with a few parishes in other ridings and across in northern Lincolnshire.
The Bishop of Sheffield leads the diocese, and his seat is at Sheffield Cathedral.
Organisation
The diocesan buishop is the Bishop of Sheffield, and he is assisted throughout the diocese by a suffragan, the Bishop of Doncaster. Alternative episcopal oversight (for parishes in the diocese who reject the ministry of priests who are women) is provided by the Bishop of Beverley.
The Diocese is divided into 12 deaneries, split between two archdeaconries:
