Moreton Hundred

Moreton hundred in Berkshire

Moreton Hundred is one of the hundreds of Berkshire. It is situated in the centre of the county, bounded to the north by Ock Hundred; and to the south-west by Compton Hundred. The southernmost part is bounded additionally by Theale Hundred to the south; and Faircross Hundred to the south-west. All the remaining boundaries are with Reading Hundred.

The hundred comprises the ancient parishes of:

• Ashampstead
• Aston Tirrold
• Basildon
• Blewbury (Aston Upthorpe and Upton tythings)^*
• Brightwell
• Didcot
• Hagbourne
• Harwell
• Moulsford
• North Moreton
• Sotwell
• South Moreton
• Streatley
• Wallingford All Hallows, St Mary More, St Leonard, and St Peter
• Wallingford Castle Precincts (ex. par.)

The hundred had a population of 43,007 in 2011.
