Chippenham Hundred
Chippenham Hundred is one of the hundreds of Wiltshire, named after the town of Chippenham, which it contains. It is situated in the north-west of the county, adjacent to the borders with Gloucestershire and Somerset. It is bounded to the north by North Damerham and Malmesbury Hundreds; to the north-east by Kingsbridge Hundred; to the east by Calne Hundred; to the south-east by Potterne and Cannings; to the south by Melksham Hundred; to the south-west by Bradford Hundred; and to the west by Somerset and Gloucestershire. The parish of Kingswood forms a detached part of Chippenham Hundred and Wiltshire, locally in Gloucestershire. The population in 2011 was 65,576, falling to 64,110 if detached parts are disregarded.
