Phillimore Island, also written as Philimore Island, is one of the isles of the Lively Island Group off the east coast of Lafonia, the southern part of East Falkland in the Falkland Islands. It is a long, thin island lying just north of Lively Island, sheltering its farmstead, Lively Settlement. Phillimore's eastern point is barely separated from the north-eastern arm of Lively.
This island was most likely named by Lieutenant B J Sulivan around 1839-45 after his first commander, Admiral Sir John Phillimore.
On 13 July 1874 the Falkland Islands Company Ltd granted Henry Hawtyn Cobb and George Arthur Cobb a lease of Lively Island, Phillimore Island, Middle Island and the several small tussac islands immediately adjacent to Lively Island for the term of 21 years from 3 April 1874 at the rent of £20 pounds a year. On 10 January 1917 the company leased these islands to the Trustees of the will of Henry Hawtyn Cobb deceased and Julia Maria Augusta Cobb (George's widow) for the rest of Julia's life at £100 a year.
