Motley Island is an outlying island of the Lively Island Group off East Falkland, in the Falkland Islands. It lies just off the coast of Lafonia, the southern part of East Falkland.
Low cliffs and large shelf-rock beaches characterise the north-eastern, south-eastern and central western coasts of Motley Island. It reaches an altitude of 50 feet in only four places. There are mature Tussac fringes, mainly at the northern and southern points, with inland grasslands recovering from years of grazing, but there are still areas of severe erosion on the western coast.[1]
Lying just over a quarter of a mile south of Motley Island is a smaller isle – The Mot, or Little Motley.
