Information |
The Nidd Viaduct, otherwise known as the Bilton Viaduct spans the Nidd Gorge outside Bilton in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It was built in 1849 to carry the Leeds & Thirsk Railway across the gorge, a severe slice through the landscape between Knaresborough and Harrogate through which the River Nidd flows at the foot of Nidderdale.
The line was closed in 1969. It now carries a Sustrans cycle path.
