Lock Island

Lock Island is an island in the River Thames connected to Shepperton Lock, near Shepperton. The county border between Middlesex and Surrey passes through the island, with the greater part lying in Middlesex.
There is a stretch of open ground where refreshments are served, making the island a popular place to visit or stop and rest. The Thames River Police have a station on the Island. The Weybridge Mariners' Boat Club is also situated there. The island is connected to Hamhaugh Island by a walkway across the weir. Early Ordnance Survey maps show Lock Island as merely the northern part of Hamhaugh.
