Information

The Nidd Viaduct, otherwise known as the Bilton Viaduct spans the Nidd Gorge outside Bilton in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It was built in 1849 to carry the Leeds & Thirsk Railway across the gorge, a severe slice through the landscape between Knaresborough and Harrogate through which the River Nidd flows at the foot of Niddesdale.

The line was closed in 1969. It now carries a Sustrans cycle path.
