Northaw is a village in Hertfordshire, on the road northeast out of Potters Bar, Middlesex. Cuffley lies to the east across the valley of the brooks which rise here, feeding the Cuffley Brook and the two villages form a joint the civil parish of Northaw and Cuffley, which was originally known as Northaw.

Cuffley is the larger village today since it has the station; Northaw has escaped the building boom which affected it neighbour and remains a small, rural village lying against woodland and hoping that Potters bar does not expand.

The joint parish had a population of 5,190 according to the 2001 census, most of whom live in Cuffley; Northaw has a population of around 450 people.
