Middleton is a scattered hamlet beside the River Lune in the south of Westmorland, on the A683 road which runs from Kirkby Lonsdale to Sedbergh (Yorkshire). The 2011 census noted that the parish population is under 100.
The parish church is Holy Ghost Church.[1], part of the combined Kirkby Lonsdale parish, now called "Rainbow Parish".
The village pub is The Head at Middleton.[2]
Middleton railway station was opened in 1861 and closed in 1931.
A Roman tombstone is to be found beside the river at Middleton.
