Kirkby Stephen Common

Kirkby Stephen Common is a high moorland area stretching out on the hills to the south of Kirkby Stephen, in the south of Westmorland. Some of the becks which feed the River Eden rise on the moor here, dropping down to Mallerstang Common, adjoining it to the east. Here too rises the Scandal Beck, along with many streams which feed its infancy.
At the south of the moor stands Wild Boar Fell, which climbs to 2,323 feet.
