Grindale is a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, four miles north-west of Bridlington town centre.
The village has an airstrip, which is used predominantly for skydiving. It is currently operated by Skydive GB Parachute Club, an approved dropzone of the British Parachute Association.[1]
The 2001 Census recoerded a parish population of 98. In 2011 it was grouped with Boynton (the two together counted as 229 souls).
In 1823 Grindale was noted (as ‘Grindall’) as part of the parish of Bridlington, in the Dickering Wapentake, and the Liberty of St Peter's. The population at the time was 107, which included six farmers and the parish curate.[2]
