Ellenthorpe is a civil parish in the North Riding of Yorkshire, adjacent to the border with the West Riding. Ellenthorpe forms a salient of the North Riding projecting into the West Riding as it trespasses north of the River Ure.
It originates as a township of the ancient parish of Aldborough, and became a civil parish in 1866. In 2001, the civil parish had 34 inhabitants.[1] It was mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) as Adelingestorp.[2]
