Calderbrook is a village in eastern Lancashire to the north-east of Rochdale, close to the border with the West Riding of Yorkshire.
It originates as a division of the township of Blatchinworth and Calderbrook within the ancient parish of Rochdale. It was also a civil parish between 1866 and 1894.[1]
The Rochdale Canal passes through Calderbrook, as does the Calder Valley railway line, although there is no station at Calderbrook, the nearest being at Walsden or Littleborough. The line passes through the Summit Tunnel here, one of the oldest railways tunnels in the world.
