Carn a' Choire Bhoidheach is a mountain in Aberdeenshire, which reaches a height of 3,642 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro.

The name of the mountain is Gaelic and means "Hill of the Beautiful Corrie", which is not unearned, and indeed there are a few fair looking corries biting into its slopes.

The mountain stands in the northern section of a large plateau known as The Mounth. It separates the peaks of Carn an t-Sagairt Mor to the west and the fantastic mountains of Lochnager to the east.

The summit itself is rounded and little more than a bump on the plateau but Carn a Choire Bhoidheach boasts a series of impressive corries:

• To the north lies The Stuic, this is an extremely craggy face dropping to little Loch nan Eun in the corrie base.
• On the south face an equally impressive craggy face known as The Eagles Rock drops sharply to the northern shores Dubh Loch.

Most of the other faces are fairly moderate in comparison to these.

A broad ridge runs north-west to connect to neighbouring Munro Carn an t-Sagairt Mor further west on The Mounth and a wide north-east ridge connects to the southern face of Lochnager.

Access to these hills is normally from Glen Callater to the west. There is parking available just off the A93 at Auchallater Farm. From here it's a fairly long walk in to the head of loch Callater. Carn an t-Sagairt Mor's north-west face can be ascended from here and then on to the rest of the Munros on The Mounth.
