Machynlleth Hundred is one of the hundreds of Montgomeryshire, located in the west of the county, adjacent to the borders with Cardiganshire and Merionethshire. It is bounded to the north by Merionethshire; to the east by Mathrafel Hundred; to the south-east by Llanidloes Hundred; and to the south-west by Cardiganshire. It had a population of 5,168 in 2011
