Newtown Hundred

Newtown Hundred is one of the hundreds of Montgomeryshire, located in the centre of the county. It is bounded to the north by Mathrafel Hundred; to the north-east by Cawrse; to the south and east by Montgomery Hundred; and to the south-west by Llanidloes Hundred. It is the most populous of the hundreds, with a population of 16,774 in 2011.
It comprises the following ancient parishes:
- Aberhafesp
- Berriew (except Brithdir)*
- Bettws
- Llandyssil
- Llanllugan
- Llanmerewig
- Llanwchaiarn
- Llanwyddelan
- Manafon
- Newtown
- Tregynon
