Fionn Loch, Ross-shire
Fionn Loch is a freshwater loch in Ross-shire. It lies 5½ miles east of Poolewe and three miles north-east of Loch Maree. It is separated from Loch Dubh in the south-east by a causeway.
It lies 559 feet above sea-level, and extends 5⅜ miles north-north-westward, with a maximum width of 1¼ miles. It sends off the Little Gruinard River towards Gruinard Bay from its northern end. For its entire length it forms the border between the parishes of Gairloch and Lochbroom.
There is another Fionn Loch on the borders of Sutherland and Cromartyshire, 26 miles north-north-east, and another on Colonsay in Argyllshire.
