Great Ormside is a small village in the parish of Ormside in Westmorland. It is a few miles away from the county's small county town, Appleby-in-Westmorland, close by the River Eden. There is a neighbouring hamlet named Little Ormside.

The parish church, St James's Church, stands in the heart of the village.

Ormside Hall

Close to the church in Great Ormside, Ormside Hall is a 17th-century house which incorporates the remains of a late 14th- or early 15th-century tower house.[1]
