Meall nan Ceapraichean
Ross-shire
Range: Ullapool Hills
Summit: 3,205 feet NH257825

Meall nan Ceapraichean is a mountain in Ross-shire, amongst the Ullapool Hills of Wester Ross. It reaches a height of 3,205 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro.

This is one of the northern Munros in the Beinn Dearg group of the Ullapool Hills. It is connected to Eididh nan Clach Geala to the north and to Beinn Dearg to the south. The western and southern slopes are steep and craggy and are well seen from the western approach up Gleann na Sguaib.

The northern ridge arcs round the steep wall of the corrie in which lies Lochan a Chnapaich, to join up with Eididh nan Clach Geala.

Most hilwalkers tackling Meall nan Ceapraichean will come in from the west, at the head of Loch Broom and follow the stalker's path through Gleann na Sguaib. From here is an ascent to the col between Beinn Dearg and the south ridge of Meall nan Ceapraichean.

The finest views from Meall nan Ceapraichean are undoubtedly of Beinn Dearg to the south. The complex nature of this fine Munro can be really appreciated from here. On a clear day the views north to the hills of the Fisherfield Forest and the Assynt Munros is also worthy of the climb.
