Gleouraich's summit cairn, towards Spidean Mialach
Range: Knoydart
Summit: 3,396 feet NH039053

Gleouraich is a mountain in Inverness-shire, which reaches a height of 3,396 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro.

It is found to the north of Loch Quoich, and presents two faces to the world; the south side of Gleouraich is a gentle, grassy slope, but its north face is steep, dark rock, with a complex array of ridges and corries.

The mountain is separated from its neighbour, Spidean Mialach, by a high ridge to the north of Loch Quoich, and the two are commonly climbed together from the south, making use of the network of stalkers' paths. The ascents of the two mountains are considered to be among the easiest in the area.[1]

Ascent

Gleouraich and Spidean Mialach are generally climbed together. Gleouraich is at the west end of the ridge joining the two. From the summit the main ridge splits northwest and southwest the latter being a popular route of ascent. The main connecting ridge to Spidean Mialach runs round the rim of several northern corries giving an excellent craggy traverse.

The best views from the summit reach out to the southwest over Loch Quoich and to the north face of the long South Loch Quoich Ridge, taking in five Knoydart Munros.
