Barkston Ash Wapentake
Barkston Ash is a wapentake of the east of West Riding of Yorkshire, adjacent to the border with the East Riding. Adjacent wapentakes are Ouse and Derwent to the east, Osgoldcross to the south and Skyrack to the west. To the north is the city of York. It is named after the meeting-place at the village of Barkston. It includes the ancient parishes of:

- Brayton
- Brotherton (part)
- Drax
- Kirk Fenton
- Kirkby Wharfe (part)
- Ledsham
- Monk Fryston
- Ryther (part)
- Saxton with Scarthingwell
- Sherburn-in-Elmet
- Snaith (part)
- Tadcaster (part)
