It is bounded to the north-east by Brecknockshire; to the east by Miskin Hundred; to the south by Newcastle and Ogmore Hundreds and to the west by Llangyfelach Hundred. It ranks seventh in population terms out of Glamorgan's ten hundreds, with a population of 105,513.
