Location of the Loubet Coast

Loubet Coast is the portion of the west coast of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory, extending 98 miles between Cape Bellue to the north-east and the head of Bourgeois Fjord to the south-west. South of Loubet Coast is the Fallières Coast and to the north the Graham Coast.

The coast was named by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1903-05 after Émile Loubet (1839-1929), President of France from 1899-1906 and Patron of the expedition.

The coastline was roughly charted in January 1905 by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1903-05 under Jean-Baptiste Charcot, and further charted by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1908-10. The name 'Terre Loubet' was originally applied to the mainland coast east of Adelaide Island with northern and southern limits undefined, and indeed originally the expedition applied Loubet's name to Adelaide Island.

The coast was further charted by the British Graham Land Expedition in 1935-36. The coast was photographed from the air by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition, 1956-1957.
