Wiston

Wiston and Roberton is a parish in the Upper Ward of Lanarkshire, comprising the old parishes of Wiston and Roberton, which were united in the year 1772. It had a population of 368 in 2011.

It is bounded by Lamington and Wandel to the south-east; by Crawfordjohn to the south-west; by Douglas to the west; by Carmichael to the north-west; and by Symington to the north-east. At Tinto cairn the parish meets those of Carmichael, Covington and Symington. The River Clyde forms the parish's eastern border.

The church at Wiston was enlarged after the union of the two parishes, and although the church at Roberton still exists, neither is now in ecclesiastical use.
