Trepassey Bay
Trepassey Bay indents the north-east side of the Tabarin Peninsula, south-south-east of Hope Bay, on the Trinity Peninsula at the tip of Graham Land in the British Antarctic Territory.
The bay was surveyed by Captain E. Burden (from whom the Burden Passage is named) and by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey on 23 January 1947. The survey was carried out from the Newfoundland sealing ship Trepassey, on charter to the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from 1945-47.
The bay was named after the survey ship, which itself was named after another Trepassey Bay, on the coast of Newfoundland. The ship also gives its name to Trepassey Island off the west coast of Graham Land.
Trepassey Bay was further surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Hope Bay in August 1955.
