Salcott is a village and ancient parish in the Winstree hundred of Essex, and forms part of the Winstred Hundred civil parish.[1] It is contiguous with Virley to the north, the two being separated by the Salcott Creek, and together they form a single ecclesiastical parish, Salcott-cum-Virley.
The village is close to those of Tolleshunt Knights, Tollesbury and Great Wigborough, near Tiptree.
