Oxton is a hamlet in the West Riding of Yorkshire, a mile west of Tadcaster.
This is a place of just two farms, in the flood plain of the River Wharfe, which becomes tidal just two miles below the hamlet.
Closer to Tadcaster is Oxton Hall, the manor house, a Grade II listed house[1] with a landscaped park. The park includes a walled kitchen garden, terraced garden with fountain, and an arboretum.[2]
