Newland is a tiny hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire, about three miles east of Howden, to the north of the B1230 road. The M62 motorway carves its way straight through the hamlet. Eastrington railway station, on the Hull to York Line, stands at the north edge of Newland.
In 1823 Newland (then New Land), was in the parishes of Eastrington and Howden, and the Wapentake and Liberty of Howdenshire.[1]
