Nancledra is a village in western Cornwall, three miles south of St Ives and four miles north-northeast of Penzance. This is a small village with a population of around 150.
The village is near Towednack and in its civil parish, in the former mining area of the Penwith peninsula.
A pub, The Engine, is situated at Cripplesease just outside the village, but Nancledra has no village shop or Post Office.[1] Nancledra School is situated one mile north of the village on the lane to Towednack at SW492367.[2]
The name of the village probably means valley of Clodri or valley of Cludri.[3]
Two streams join near Nancledra to form the Red River at the start of its journey to the sea at Marazion.
