Lingay is a small island at the edge of the Sound of Harris, off the north coast of North Uist and joined to it at low tide by the sands of the foreshore. Like North Uist, Lingay is within Inverness-shire. Berneray lies away to the north-west and Berneray, now with a causeway link to the main island, to the north-east.
