Kildavin is a small village in County Carlow, found at the junction of the N80 road and the R724 regional road, three miles north of Bunclody, County Wexford at the northern end of the Blackstairs Mountains.

The South Leinster Way begins (or ends) at Kildavin, and a path runs also from the village to the Wicklow Way at Clonegal.

About the village

The River Slaney at Kildavin is one of the best places in Ireland in winter to see the rare goosander. Flocks of up to 30 have been seen here. The yellowhammer, an increasingly rare songbird in Ireland, is locally common. Ireland's newest breeding bird, the great spotted woodpecker, has been seen here several times recently.
