Eynhallow Sound

Eynhallow Sound is a sea channel amongst the Orkney islands, lying between Mainland, Orkney and the island of Rousay.

The tidal indraught in the Eynhallow Sound is "scarcely felt beyond a line joining Costa Head and the Reef of Quendale",[1] for which reason it is a useful seaway.

An Iron Age broch, Gurness, has a strategic outlook over the Eynhallow Sound.[2]
