Cowley is a town in western Middlesex; a suburban development south of and contiguous with Uxbridge.
St Laurence Church, the parih church, was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086.
Little Britain Lake in the west of Cowley extends for about 500 yards between the River Colne and Frays River.

From 1836 to 10 September 1962 there was a railway line between West Drayton and Uxbridge, with an intermediate station at Cowley, which opened 1 October 1904. There is still a 'Station Road', with bridges where the tracks once were.
