Black Law is a hill of 1,765 feet in Peeblesshire: it is at the southern end of the Moorfoot Hills, north of Tweeddale, on the high ridge between the streams of the River Tweed and that of the Leithen Water to the north-east.
The Glentress Forest spreads out over the western slope of the hill and far beyond.
The hill is three and a half miles south-west of Black Law and Innerleithen the same distance to the south-east, where the Leithen meets the Tweed.
