Bines Green is a hamlet in the south of Sussex, many miles inland of the coast on the far side of the South Downs, but at sea level and connected, as the western River Adur flows through the hamlet and Bines Bridge, a bridge in the rive just north of Bines Green, marks the river's limit, the tide of the English Channel running up to this point.
The hamlet is to be found two miles north-west of Henfield on the B2135 road between Ashurst and Partridge Green.
Bines Bridge is eleven miles from the mouth of the Adur at Shoreham-by-Sea.[1]
