Astwood is a village and parish in the Newport Hundred of Buckinghamshire, adjacent to the border with Bedfordshire, approximately six miles east of Newport Pagnell and seven miles west of Bedford.

The village name is Anglo-Saxon in origin and means "eastern wood".

The churchyard of the parish church of St Peter is considered by some as being one of the prettiest in the county.[2] Most of the older buildings in the village have thatched roofs making for a quaint rural setting.
