Great Munden is a village in eastern Hertfordshire, amidst broad, rich farmland. It had a population of 477 recorded in 2001. Great Munden is to be found 6 miles north of Ware.

The village parish church is St Nicholas.

To the village belongs Munden Bury and a rectory that includes the remains of a moat. Hamlets attached to the village include the nice little hamlet of Nasty to the north, and Levens Green to the southeast.

Its counterpart, Little Munden, does not exist as such as a village, only as the name of a parish, centred on Dane End to the southwest of Great Munden.
