Great Barrington is a village in the Cotswolds of Gloucestershire, to the north of the River Windrush. Half a mile to the south is Little Barrington, to which it is joined by footpaths which bridge the river at Barrington Mill, and indirectly by a minor road. The two together are on occasion collectively known as 'Barrington'.
The village is in the east of the county, less than half a mile from the border of Oxfordshire. The nearest place of any size nearby is Burford, two and half miles to the south-east, in Oxfordshire.
The parish includes the villages of Great Barrington and Little Barrington, on either side of the River Windrush. To the east the parish borders Oxfordshire.
