Inveran is a small village in the south of Sutherland, on the north shore of the Kyle of Sutherland, which marks the border with Ross-shire.

The village is on the A837 road, and is the site of the Shin Hydro-electric Power Station.[1]

A little below Inveran the Kyle opens out into the Dornoch Firth.

The Inveran Inn was designed by the architect William Fowler.[2]
