Devon Railway Centre
The Devon Railway Centre is found by the village of Bickleigh in Devon, at the former Cadeleigh railway station The station once served the villages of Bickleigh and Cadeleigh on the Great Western Railway branch from Exeter to Dulverton; a branch also known as the 'Exe Valley Railway'. The line closed in 1963 and the station with it.
In 1997 the Gicquel family with the help of volunteers began to restore Cadeleigh Station. The narrow gauge track was laid in 1997 and the Devon Railway Centre opened to the public in 1998. The original Victorian station has been restored.
Today the Centre has the largest narrow gauge collection in the West Country.
The Centre operates a 2-foot narrow gauge passenger railway. There is also a 7¼-inch gauge miniature railway and a model railway at the Centre.
