Bridge on the Cocker at Hampson Green
Not to be confused with River Cocker, Cumberland

The River Cocker is a small river in Lancashire. It ultimately discharges into the estuary of the River Lune below Lancaster.

The River Cocker rises near to Yeat House Farm and Higher Knowle Hill south of Quernmore, near Lancaster. It runs a south westerly course through Cocker Clough Wood and Brunstow Wood, then by Hampson Green, before briefly turning northwest, during which reach it is joined by Potters Brook at the hamlet of Potters Brook close to the M6 motorway and the Lancaster Canal.

The river then skirts south around Cockerham, being swollen by Park Lane Brook and Lee Brook, before flowing into saltflats known as Cockerham Marsh below Cockersand Abbey on the Lune estuary. The mudflats of the estuary are known as Cockerham Sands.
