The River Oich

The River Oich runs through the Great Glen in Inverness-shire, joining Loch Oich upstream with Loch Ness downstream.

Loch Oich is the source of the river, the waters pouring from the foot of the loch at Bridge of Oich. From here it flows through the glen north-eastwards to discharge its waters at last into Loch Ness at Fort Augustus.

The Caledonian Canal follows the Oich's glen between the two lochs, jostling the river though without effacing it.
