Rothwell is a small village in Lindsey, Lincolnshire. The village is some 10 miles southwest of Great Grimsby, and about 17 miles southeast of Scunthorpe.

This village and its parish sit about 2½ miles southeast of Caistor and 9 miles north of Market Rasen. The parish covers just over 2,870 acres and is primarily agricultural land. It lies in Cherry Valley.[1]

History

St Mary Magdalene church

Rothwell has a Mediæval church, dedicated to St Mary Magdalene, and several old houses. The village pub was the Blacksmith's Arms (formerly the Nickerson Arms), situated on Hill Rise. Nickerson Seeds is based in the village, which is owned by Groupe Limagrain, the EU's largest seed company.
