Minting is a small village just off the A158 road, in Lincolnshire (in Lindsey, the northern part of the county). It is in the midst of open Lincolnshire fields, with lanes and footpaths leading off to neighbouring farms and villages. Minting Wood lies to the west, part of Chamber's Farm Wood.
Minting is one of the Thankful Villages; those which suffered no fatalities amongst the men of the village who went out to fight in the Great War of 1914 to 1918.
Minting Priory was here until dissolved under King Henry VIII.[1] Its remains are evident in the village.
Today Minting is a small village that has a population of about 167 people. The pub, The Sebastopol Inn, is in the centre of the village.
The village church is St Andrew, part of the wider Parish of Bardney, a parish with six churches, half of which are named "St Andrew".[2]
