Magheraveely is a small village in Fermanagh. At the 2001 Census it had a population of people 254.[1]
The name 'Magheraveely' is from Machaire Mhílic meaning 'Plain of the marshy margin'.[2]
Crozier family
Gortra House stands midway between Magheraveely and Newtownbutler. The Crozier family formerly lived at Cloncarn and Springtown, County Fermanagh.
In the graveyard on the edge of the village is the Crozier family's burial vault, built by John Crozier of Gortra House (1765 – 1814), where members of the family were buried until 1933.
