Williamhope is a tiny hamlet alone on a hill in Selkirkshire, with just a single, unfenced track leading down to any other habitation, which it finds at Peel and Ashiestiel, adjacent villages barely larger on the bank of the Yarrow Water.
The hamlet is on a minor burn between Ashiestiel Hill (1,319 feet) and Brown Knowe (1,716 feet) within the Ettrick Forest.
