Ashiestiel is a village in Selkirkshire, in the Parish of Caddonfoot, on the south side of the River Tweed, four miles east of Innerleithen.
The original name of this village in the Royal Ettrick Forest was "Echesteile" in 1456. In a later age, it was the home of Sir Walter Scott from 1804 to 1812 when he moved to Abbotsford.
Ashiestiel Hill rises to 1,319 feet.
