Winceby is a village in Lindsey, the northern part of Lincolnshire. It is in the Lincolnshire Wolds about five miles from both Horncastle and Spilsby.
During the Civil War, the Battle of Winceby was fought in 1643, at which the Royalist army was defeated by the Roundheads at "Slash Hill".[1]
There is a church, St Margaret's, and a garage. The village is very close to the Snipe Dales nature reserve and country park, owned by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
